Like many events in Paris, the Retromobile show is a must every year. Fans of vintage cars have an appointment at Parc des Expositions in Porte de Versailles from February 8 to February 12 for the new edition and they are not going to be disappointed.
The show features no less than 500 vehicles, so of course there will be something for everyone! A few figures that give an idea of the size of the show: 500 exhibitors, 120 clubs, 45 artists present in the Car Art Gallery. Between exhibitions, animations and auctions, pavilions 1, 2 and 3 promise amateurs 5 days of pure pleasure on wheels.
Here are some examples of the animations proposed by the show in 2017:
- Aston Martin: 20 models of the famous GT are exposed and will remind us the special relationship maintained with the 007 agent.
- Pavilion 1 features the extraordinary Formula 1, Porsche presents the 928 – its historic model -, the mythical Ferrari brand pays tribute to the sacred monsters in road and competition, and Legends of the Rally are congratulated.
- Exciting exhibitions await visitors fond of history, for example Cars of more than a hundred years, Les Motos de France from 1871 until today (Did you know that the motorcycle was born in France ?) or Renault, the Turbo years. More cultural, the exhibition “Bugath meets Bentley, When the automobile and culture coexist” is interested in the two designers and makes a parallel.
- The National Museum of Car organizes an exhibition around three themes: The age of the electric car, a surprising reality – The links that unite car and horse-drawn carriers – The special relationship between Pasteur and Compiègne.
- Of course Rétromobile is the occasion to discover exceptional models like the Daimler TL30, a bottle car, two Ballots cars, or the last two tanks Schneider and Saint-Charmond which have been part of the First World War.
- Our little favorite goes to the blog PreWarCar.com which reveals interesting stories, even thrilling on old models. As elucidated inquiries, resolved mysteries. A website made by enthusiasts for enthusiasts. A way also to discover wonderful vehicles.
At the time of electric innovations, and appearance of hybrid cars, the Retromobile show is a sweet nostalgia that we will still appreciate for a long time …
